all visuals completed in 3DS Max (utilising some seriously intense PFlow scripting for the sound-reactive 3D plexus), Realflow (for the liquid sims of the first part) and After Effects / Trapcode Suite to boot, as per usual …

the soundtrack was recorded on Ableton Live and all the harmonic parts (including all basslines, glitch fx and some percussive sounds) were designed and performed on the PPG Wave synthesizer.
all drum sounds courtesy of my TR-808.
all vocals bits were re-synthesized on Reaktor and harmonized / vocoded on Lector.

WE STEAL SECRETS-WIKILEAKS THE MOVIE from Gabriel Pulecio / LUSTIX on Vimeo.

Oscar-winning director Alex Gibney’s latest documentary, We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks, follows the controversial whistleblowing site and its even more controversial leader, Julian Assange.
It tells the story of the site’s creation up to its execution of the largest security breach in US history. Below is the montage of all my graphics I produced for the film at FramestoreNY.

Partituira - Ligeti - {Excerpts} from Abstract Birds on Vimeo.

Partitura-Ligeti is a collaboration between Abstract Birds + Quayola in the form of a live audiovisual
concert and installation based on Ligeti’s sonata for viola solo, performed by Odile Auboin of
Ensemble intercontemporain, Paris.
Inspired by the studies of artists such as Kandinsky, Paul Klee, Oskar Fischinger and Norman McLaren,
Partitura-Ligeti is inherently connected to music, generating and defining its own coherent visual language .
Through the use of bespoke software, the sound of the viola is analysed and transformed into dynamic graphic scores.
The six Ligeti pieces materialise into linear structures, translating the music and its complexities into abstract
geometries and forms.
Ligeti had a far reaching influential palate from Renaissance to African music, literature, painting, architecture,
science and mathematics, especially the fractal geometry of Benoît Mandelbrot and the writings of Douglas Hofstadter.
The Sonata for Viola Solo, has been described as “perhaps the greatest paean yet written to a single string,
in this case, the viola’s lowest string, “C” its most sensual asset.
Commissioned by Arcadi for Nemo Festival, in collaboration with Ensemble Intercontemporain.

The Great Beauty from IlConte on Vimeo.

AILFILM.COM PRESENTS THE GREAT BEAUTY
WRITTEN BY ANTONIO CONTE
DIRECTED BY MELANIA DE ROSA - ANTONIO CONTE
SOUNDTRACK BY DANILO CRISPINO - PELLEDRO - ANTONIO CONTE
SPECIAL THANKS TO ALL GIRLS/PERFORMERS AND LORENZO PIGRO.
Please make a donation for my next project: AILFILM.COM

The intention is to research the meaning of beauty, lost now.
Semir Zeki explains, in the “theory of acquired synthetic concepts”, that the brain is bombarded by continuous pictures, deduced from experience, it synthesize the “ideal.”
In the last years, now, continuously swamped by pictures of obscene nudity, the global brain, agglomerating everything, has developed the ideal of beauty: connecting it to the woman as a tool / object made only of flesh (and silicone), therefore, comparable to dish to eat, more or less tasty.
The WOMAN from inspiring beauty (muse) has become an instrument made of flesh.
We are placing a reflection about the claim of what we really like freeing ourselves from what modern communicators show like “beauty” stressing that true beauty can not only save the world (Fyodor Dostoevsky), but it is in the mind of the beholder (David Hume).

Another audio-reactive generative algorithm.

Check vimeo.com/76059022, vimeo.com/75866560 and vimeo.com/73923211 for other test patterns.
I’m working on a custom C++/OpenGL software to generate audio-reactive visuals for live event, sound ambiance, so on.

トランスミッション [ transmission ] from Tony on Vimeo.

Audio-reactive procedurally generated visuals as part of an ongoing research about writing a compilation of algorithms that reacts to audio for VJing, Live events, DJ sets, so on.
Software test drive: vimeo.com/accidentally/sara

Conceptually, i also wanted to investigate the problem of informations transmission in the case of natural disasters, hence applying multiple layers of distortion to the broadcasted datas (pictures).

I can’t deny that i’m a big fan of Ryoichi Kurokawa and got inspired by this other video: vimeo.com/63167761
The track used here is ‘RN4-09’ by Aoki Takamasa, japanese electronic artist featured on the label RASTER NOTON. If you don’t have good speakers, put on your headphones…Aoki puts a lot in the bass line!

This was coded in C++/OpenGl/GLSL

Last but not least…
If you are a photograph, a sound designer, a DJ, a VJ, an event organizer…please get in touch :)
